The Culinistas is in-home private chef services for weekly cooking and special occasions. We develop recipes and work with a selective group of chefs to make vibrant, balanced meals for the entire household. Our recurring service fulfills weekly culinary needs: choose 6 dishes and the time you’d like your chef to grocery shop, prepare meals in your home & clean up. Our customizable menu items are easy to mix & match throughout the week for lunches, dinners & snacks. The Culinistas also handles special occasion dining of any kind.
Meet the team
Jill Donenfeld, Co-Founder
With over a decade of experience as private chef, caterer, cookbook author and restaurant veteran, Jill Donenfeld is a culinary industry expert with a global perspective. She penned Better on Toast (Harper Collins, 2015), Party Like a Culinista (Lake Isle Press, 2011), cookbooks written in Madagascar and India and contributes to Food & Wine, Men’s Journal, The Huffington Post, TimeOut, and National Geographic. She co-founded Bottarga Dell’Isola, which makes Italian-style cured fish roe for Eataly and ran the kitchen at Villa Lena in Tuscany. With The Culinistas, Jill is bringing hospitality and fantastic cuisine to at-home private chef services.
Tiana Tenet, Co-Founder
Tiana spent the past five years as a financial advisor and consultant with families and entrepreneurs at J.P. Morgan. Tiana’s business philosophy is centered on delivering the best high-touch customer service, bringing her advisor experience to the customer service at The Culinistas. Prior to J.P. Morgan, Tiana spent a summer cooking in a Tuscan kitchen, assisted on the set of Giada at Home and contributed to Food Network Magazine. Combining her business acumen, love of food and entrepreneurial spirit, she partnered with Jill Donenfeld in 2017 to leverage and grow Jill’s successful private chef service into The Culinistas, a tech-enabled custom chef service.
