Aspen Allure: Houseware
by The Culinistas
Long a place for makers and the arts, Aspen has ample appreciation for aesthetic. These houseware companies curated and showcase an array of styles.
If you are after English-style home and table, Chequers is where you should be. Here, you will find classics ranging from fine ceramics to delicate glass and lustrated silverware. We are channeling high-tea, and could definitely imagine a perfect slice of our Plum and Cherry Upside Down Cake served on one of their signature porcelain plates, accompanied by a dollop of cream served from an elegant saucer.
“Handcrafted objects for the home and heart” is what you will find at Maker and Place. Behind the gorgeous selection of artisan goods, you will find a powerful mother and daughter team, always on the hunt for carefully crafted home goods and tableware. We love serving our fresh fruit salads in their Elaine Tian porcelain tumblers with their gold cutlery set.
Born in NYC, Forty-Five Ten’s Aspen outpost is still a favorite. They focus on high fashion but also carry a remarkable selection of home and tableware items. We love their delicate Artemest wine glasses and Georg Jensen carafes – and are eyeing their Martha Sturdy serving sets to showcase our Shaved Vegetable Salad with Parmesan and Mint.
A special thanks to Sylvie Rosokoff for the beautiful photograph.
