Holiday Hosting Tips

Every great holiday party we’ve attended has been just as much about spending time with loved ones as it has about the food, decor, and atmosphere. Your guests have come to gather and enjoy, and with just a few simple boxes to check, hosting can be a pleasure, not a chore.
Queue It Up
The perfect party playlist doesn’t require hours of curation. Pick a general theme or decade and let the radio feature (on Spotify, Sonos, etc) do it’s magic. We’re partial to 70s London punk and dreamy bedroom pop.
Use Your Space
Keep the night flowing by switching up locations. Start with a cocktail hour, move to the dining room when it’s time to feast, and lounge in the family room for dessert!
Lean Into Libations
Instead of putting together a full bar, batch up a signature cocktail for the evening. We recommend the formula of: spirit + herb infused simple syrup + seasonal juice. Serve in a large pitcher alongside ice for guests to serve themselves, supplement your drink selection with wine and Pellegrino and you’ll have an option for everyone.
Hop over to your local market or bodega in lieu of a more traditional arrangement. We’re partial to eucalyptus mixed with purple or white calla lilies. Get creative by picking your own flowers and branches if accessible, or even using herbs in the mix!
When thinking about the format of your feast, we recommend keeping it family style. Not only does it make it easier on the kitchen end of things, it fosters a wonderful dialogue around the table.
Don’t forget, you’re not in it alone. Everyone wants to help in making the night a success, so let them! Delegate simple tasks to your guests like bringing ice, wine, and bread to prep yourself up for max-schmoozing come game time.
