If you haven’t heard, Tom’s Juice is taking NYC by storm and we can’t get enough. And for good reason: Tom’s juices are cold-pressed juice, made to order & delivered to your door. He is like the milkman of juice with flavors that include mandarin and honey melon.
Not to mention these juices are packed with vitamins that are good for your eyes, which is why we asked Tom to be part of our Hindsight is 20/20 vision campaign. Here, he throws it back to Oakleys (remember those?!), the superpowers of carrots, and enjoying each day.
The Culinistas: Why do you think vision health can get, ahem, overlooked?
Tom’s Juice: I think it’s easy to generalize when it comes to your health. And for some reason vision heath just doesn’t seem to surface too much in conversation.
TC: What’s one easy step anyone can take to protect the eyes?
TC: What’s the biggest impact of juice on vision health?
TJ: Having a balanced diet plays a big role in keeping your vision healthy, and juice is a great way to get your daily nutrients and natural sugars your body needs to function at it’s best each day.
TC: What’s the biggest myth about eyes/vision health?
TJ: “Eat your carrots and you will be able to see in the dark.” Haha! That’s what I was told in New Zealand growing up.
TC: Do you believe in love at first sight?
TJ: Yeah, I see things every day I love!
TC: Looking back, what helped you through 2020?
TJ: I was fortunate enough to bike around New York every day delivering juice to people. It was the simple things, getting outside and exercising that helped me get through.
TC: What big changes are you eyeing for 2021?
TJ: I just want to continue what I am doing now. I’m really enjoying each day and I think that’s the main thing.
We asked Tom to select six items from our Hindsight is 20/20 menu and tell us why.
